After posting the final installment of Walking Victoriously Through the ‘Long Goodbye,’ I sincerely believed that I would not continue blogging and looked forward to discovering God’s future plans for my life. However, after taking time to recover from the impending surgeries that I was facing, I realized that a single troubling question continued to be at the forefront of my thinking: “How do I (alone) continue the legacy that Linda and I developed in nearly sixty years of marriage?” Therefore, on April 7, 2024, I posted the first installment of Living Victoriously After the ‘Long Goodbye.’ Pursuing an answer to that troubling question proved to be very therapeutic for me. Last month, in the final installment of that series, I outlined three great lessons that I had learned and noted, “I am now facing the future with increasing hope and confidence.”
Now, after carefully and prayerfully considering the increasing challenges facing an aging population, on September 6, 2026, I will begin a new series, Aging Gracefully. I will focus upon the perils and blessings of each stage of life. Foundational to my efforts will be a course that I developed and taught at Lee University in the late 1970’s. Nearly a half century of life experiences has exponentially increased my understanding of the topic.
